Email Ella - "Bring Back Serendip's Wildlife"

All the wildlife in this collage have been removed from Serendip by Parks Victoria

BRING THEM BACK

Email Ella George - MP for Lara. It is one of the most powerful actions you can take to bring back Serendip's wildlife. The more people that do it the better. Anyone can email Ella and lots of people already have!

________

How to Email Ella

It's so easy to email your local MP, Ella George. Here's how:
  • Write a very simple message
  • Be honest and say what you believe
  • Be polite, brief and firm (never rude or threatening)

Here's an example:

Dear Ella George MP, Lara

Subject:  Bring Them Back (Serendip's Wildlife)

I live in Lara [or wherever you live].

I am very unhappy that the wildlife at Serendip has been removed by Parks Victoria without telling the people of Lara they would do this.

As you are the local Member of Parliament for the Lara area, I’d like to ask you to arrange for the wildlife to be brought back! I love Serendip Sanctuary and have always enjoyed the captive wildlife and the captive breeding program [add whatever you like]

Yours sincerely

[your name]

Send your email to:  ella.george@parliament.vic.gov.au and send a C.c. to the Environment Minister, Steve Dimopoulos: steve.dimopoulos@parliament.vic.gov.au

You may not get a response immediately but be assured that Ella will receive your email AND it will have an impact!

If you'd like more information about the removal of wildlife from Serendip please read this story which explains what has happened and how you can get involved in Lara Care Group's "Bring Them Back" campaign

Why Email Ella?

As Lara's local Member of Parliament Ella George represents us. It's our electorate.

The most important part of her job is to listen to the people who live in Lara AND to act on our behalf.

So when you write, telephone or speak directly to Ella, she has a duty to listen to you.  If lots of us tell her we want her to take action on something, she would be crazy not to. We might vote her out!

If you're uncertain about whether you live in Lara Electorate check out this map. But, even if you live outside the electorate you can still Email Ella.

Telephone Ella’s electoral office :  (03) 5275 3898

As a follow up to your email you may like to call Ella's office. Once again this is easy

When someone answers, be polite and say that you'd like to register your concerns about the removal of wildlife from Serendip Sanctuary.

Then simply say what you said in your email. It's OK to express reasonable emotion but never be rude or threatening (remember the person who answers the phone is simply doing their job).

After you've said what you want to say, thank the person and hang up.

It’s rare for politicians to answer the phones so don’t expect to talk to Ella.

You may be asked if you live in the electorate of Lara. If you do please say so but you don’t need to go into details just ask the person to register that you have made the call and that you feel very strongly about the issue.

    1. Serendip was such a wonderful place for learning about wildlife. But we can bring it back to its former glory as long as we keep up the fight
